Favorite Mid-90's Heavy Groove and Rapcore?
There were a lot of great bands that predated what got labeled as Nu-Metal.
I think 311, incubus, snot, sugar ray, phunk junkeez, shooty grooves, deftones , and coal chamber circa 1993-1997 all put all great stuff.
What are some obscure bands that were pretty good from this era?

Coal Chamber, even though it's completely obvious Meegs' writing was all KoRn. I really dig Fear Factory, who is sometimes classified as nu-metal, even though I like to consider them strictly industrial metal as their stuff is a little heavier than nu-metal.
DEFTONES

SNOT
Old Mushroomhead with JMann is pretty good too (gothic nu-metal) -
