Reminiscence of the Drums
I remember the day in High School when going round my grandparents house on my mum's side when her younger brother still lived there.
I remember the banging instrument from upstairs when downstairs. I found it interesting and there were times I went upstairs to watch him play on his drums but not that many.
There was a time I had a go but he never taught me. I just had a little count on one drum - counted 1,2,3,4 with the drum sticks and counted while drumming, then moved on to the next drum and hit the metal bit at the end. Never known what those bits of the drum set are called.
At home I had a keyboard which I taught myself to play some tunes on. I know which notes are which on the keyboard which I taught myself from a book.
I remember one time in high school during my music lessons we played on the keyboard a little bit but then there was a time when I played on the drums which I thought was quite fun. It was only on one day though.
One time I was looking at music lessons on the Internet and saw this place that taught guitar, piano and I thought to myself if I wanted to do any lessons on an instrument I thought that drums would probably be more fun and believed I would enjoy it more.
Looking back at what may have influenced my choice if I had to pick an instrument to learn, those high school days of the drums that my mum's brother played come flooding back rapidly. I don't think he does the drums any more. I think those were his younger days.
