This blog wont be original, I'm sure there are tons of blogs like this. I guess I'm doing this cause its 2.45am and I cant sleep.
For me getting into Korn was a progession. For me Slipknot were the first metal band I got into, when I was 15 and they changed my life. Korn were next but I think Korn have had a bigger impact on me, its hard to explain since I just said that Slipknot changed my life.
I remember when I first saw the 'Blind' video and seeing JD in a tracksuit for the first time I couldnt believe what I saw, cause were I come from the people that normally wore tracksuits were the the people that tried to beat the shit out of metalheads or anybody that dared to be different. So seeing JD wearing that kind of broke boundries (in my head anyway).
The main thing that gets me and I'm sure like 99% of the people on this forum is JD's lyircs and emotion, especially on the first two albums, apart from Corey Taylor I've never heard a singer put so much into a song. I still feel un-nerved when I listen to 'Daddy'.
Even at 26 (almost 27) Korn's music and JD's lyrics still strike a chord even though I am less angry at the wolrd these days.
Thanks for reading the ramblings of a tired Scotsman :-) ...thats if ANYBODY reads this that is.
