Nothing irks me more than dishonesty. Chief amongst the world's population of dishonest fucktards are creationists. It's not entirely their fault of course (well mostly it is); it's just impossible to be a creationist and not be dishonest. To assert a biased faith-based world view you must be dishonest, there's no other way of avoiding evidentially supported reality. Case in point; New Scientist magazine published an article in January 2009 sensationally titled 'Darwin was wrong'. This was just asking to be jumped on by creationists (henceforth known as retards), and so it was.
Essentially the article was regarding the nested hierarchy of biological taxa, and how this could be incorrect due to horizontal gene transfer in early organisms.
Evolution happens by reproduction with variation in organisms, simply put children inherit genes from their parents but also have individual mutations in the genome. That is vertical gene transfer, while horizontal gene transfer applies to organisms sharing genes without any reproduction. For example, it would be like me sharing my genes with Scarlett Johansson despite us not being recently related.
What this means is that the Tree of Life Darwin posited to show evolutionary history would not have a base like a tree trunk, but more a base of inter-connected vines. But creationists being fucking retards take this out of context and spew their ignorant filth like it was fact. Not happy with being morons themselves they want to force their moronic take on reality on the rest of us.
That's why I think they're a bunch of cunts.
Clearly someone didn't like this blog.
you're so bigeted that you can't have imagination or faith.. yay, you're an ass hole.
While I'm loathed to take a lecture from someone who can't even spell the accusation they're accusing me of, it raises a point I can address.
Creationism isn't about imagination. If it is then essentially it's been relegated to a fairy story. It also doesn't say much for it's truth value if you need to imagine Genesis is true for it to be true. Imagination is about inventing scenarios, not corroborating past events. Faith, also, is not a good thing. It's essentially gullible en mass, believing things for which there is no evidence or reasonable compulsion is akin to believing anything you're told. Just because it makes you feel better, doesn't mean it is right.
Why try and justify an indefensible position by invoking faith or spurious calls for imagination when reality, demonstrable and verifiable, is so much more wonderful and awe inspiring than anything ever written in any holy book. I'll take the accretion model of solar formation over 7 day creation any day. I'd rather discover the reality of reality by learning, not by saying "God did it" then sitting in ignorance until I die.
That's not to say ALL religious people are creationists, but faith is still not an intellectually defensible position. End of.
