Open Letter to Korn (RE: Meet and Greet - Luxembourg)

I can't even begin to describe how disappointed and...well, fucking pissed we were to be ripped off by the meet and greet in Luxembourg last Thursday. First off, I wasn't expecting Fieldy to drive up in a Mercedes and throw me the keys, but for fuck's sake, I've been a fan since the first time I heard opening notes of Blind on "The Box" (yeah…remember that? If not: and would have called repeatedly to hear it vs all the other shit they played on that channel, if I could have afforded all the "votes". When my wife, one of our friends and I all talked about going, we debated it quite a bit simply because of the price tag ($390 for the 3 of us) but I thought, "Hell, they've been one of my favorite bands over the last 17 fucking cool would it be to actually meet them?!" And, with my birthday coming up, I told my wife that's what I wanted as my present.

Now, again, I didn't expect much. I know touring is exhausting and I know you guys have a lot going on. But, holy shit…we're your fans and YOU offered the meet and greet. If you didn't want to do it, you shouldn't have! But don't charge us, your fans, an exorbitant amount of money, then treat us like a fucking inconvenience. I would have been happy for simply the chance to shake your hand, get an autograph and maybe chat for a minute or two. Is that too much to ask as 1) a fan and 2) a fan who's paying $130 just for the opportunity to meet you?

First, we live 1 1/2 hours away and had to leave work early in order to get to the venue by 6 pm, only to be told we had to wait until 6:30. Not a great start (and my wife was PISSED because she had to ask for time off without pay and we rushed to get there in time) but we went to the bar, had a couple of drinks and waited it out. We were finally let in, then corralled to the barricade while being blasted by the soundcheck for the opening band (horrible choice for an opener, by the way). The meet and greet started out OK, as Ray actually displayed some personality and was friendly. But, as each successive band member came out, it all went downhill. The rest of you didn't seem to give a shit about meeting your fans. Fieldy was nice enough to take a picture, but still seemed as if he'd rather be having a root canal. Munky and JD barely scribbled an autograph while the soundcheck went on so loud we couldn't even scream "Nice to meet you." And that was fucking it! Seriously? That was worth $130? I bet I could get online and buy your autographs for less than that. That's all we got out of experience of meeting my one of my favorite bands, just some illegible scribbles on a piece of paper...a setlist for the Luxembourg concert…AND with the wrong fucking date. What a memento. Are you guys struggling THAT bad financially? Do you need the $390 more than the three of us? I bet not, and I certainly hope you'd consider refunding the money to your fans who you, absolutely and without a doubt, screwed over. You might as well have just walked out on the stage and told us all to go fuck ourselves.

Come to think of it, JD did by subjecting the crowd to his public masturbation…and I call it that because throughout the set, you were obviously only pleasuring yourself. Please, for fuck's sake, never subject your fans to that shit again. And, how is it that you were OK to chat with fans and take pictures (FOR FUCKING FREE) when you came to Ramstein AB, Germany, when it was apparently such an inconvenience the night before? Had I not been busy that morning I would have loved to come by to tell you in person how fucking pissed we were.

I am looking forward to a prompt response concerning an immediate refund!

"feeling ripped off again" in Germany…

Wow. Bitter. I am so glad I went into the concert with no expectations at all. Well, I did assume that a big part of the VIP price was getting into the venue first, and I ended up in a great spot and was very happy with that. To me, they showed a lot of respect for the fans by putting on a great show. No matter how much you love a band-it's not a personal relationship, you know.

That's why I don't wanna meet them. I'm sure I will be disappointed and their music will be less good after it... Sorry for you!

I've been to meet and greets that seemed like it was a rush and there was no connection with the band but it was the venue who was at fault because they didn't want fans back stage for a long period of time and then they scheduled it earlier than the band expected so they were all sleepy and upset about the experience...I guess I'm used to it by now..not so good for people who never been to a meet and greet. It sucks but it happens sometimes dude..Hopefully you got to stay in the front of the pit when the show started. AFter all of that, it doesn't seem like you enjoyed the show and you did meet the band whether you took the time to say anything or not was up to you but from my experience I don't see a refund in your future.

WOW, That's sucks but I can honestly say that there's always more to the story ...I wouldn't go too far as to putting the band down because you obviously like them enough to purchase the VIP but at the same time...Jon has health issues, certain venues are strict when it comes to meet and greets, you never know what played a role in this. I'm sorry you had a bad night! maybe they will explain soon...

I've been thinking - how much of the venue management contributed to this?
