Fairy Tales
The fairy tales taught to us when we are small
They don't mean anything at all
No knight in shining armor
No prince to kiss our worries away
False hopes & fantasies
Dashed by the reality of today
No glass slipper
That just doesn't fit
Into my life
I won't believe it
Now the evil I can see
In the mirror it calls to me
I know of what is fair & true
It's not the myths
Taught by you
No midnight chimes
To change my fate
No magic potions
To relieve this hate
No fountain that will bring me youth
Bitter realism is my truth
No longer to waste my life spending
Searching for the happy ending
