What is wrong with people nowadays?
Why suddenly skinny became sexy? And I mean anorexic skinny, not normal slim body. I know girls that want to become like those skinny ass models with a huge gap between their legs, no hips and bony arms. I think it's sick, fucked and disgusting.

I don't really care about apperances anymore, just because everyone is caring about them so much. I'm not skinny either but then again I'm not obese. But for most of people it's still not good enough, so I stay away from them.

Yeah I know that I am not skinny but I am not morbidly obese either. But I have had many recent discusions with some friends about (especially) the American culture became obsessed with body image and sexuality. Being skinny is the new sexy. Being other than that is ugly. I understand that these days that there is much pressure not only against girls but guys to, to look perfect.

i jus go with the personality of the person, which is a shock to people these days because their too bothered about appearance, and now such things as friendship have little meaning with this constant competition of who is better than who -_-'

See I understand that fat is not good either. To me it doesn't matter how you look, I'm more concerned about health side. But I see nothing wrong with being round rather than skinny. It's really sad because my best friend is one of those girls that are desperate to get that perfect-said-by-media body. She admited to try bulimia as well. She knows it's bad and that she shouldn't do it but it's hard for her to stop considering everyone around her is really skinny. I don't know how to help her. Saying that what she's trying to become is disgusting and that perfect bodies are no more than Photoshoped models is not enough anymore.

The media for years has promoted skinny as sexy. But the media are just trying the reflect the culture. Time to change the culture and the rest will follow.

I'm with ya on this. It seems our society is certainly eager to criticize the overweight people around us but tend to put little emphasis on the people who choose to make themselves "overly thin". But then that's just my opinion.

I agree u with 110%. No one should ever go and do those kind of things to their bodies. people would like you better if you didnt look like your not human lol. geez again. people should enjoy themselves more if they dont do these things to their bodies

It is sad and it it does look pretty disgusting however a normal mind will never let themselves get to a literal bag of bones state unless they absolutely can't help it. This is the case with a very high majority of these ppl. In most cases of anorexia nervosa and bulimia they also have body dysmorphic disorder. Which means no matter how thin, average, (or what have u) they actually are, will always see there body as HUGE.
