Sometimes I just take things way too far..
I was called a poseur today so I decided that I would not say anything to the guy. I like Slipknot and I had on my hoodie and paul shirt. This dumb guy just came out of nowhere and said it. I guess not that many chicks that look like me are into metal ( I am not talking about the obvious). My background was not gritty or f-ed up enough I guess. As I watched this dude walk away I realized that he was talking about himself not me.
I do not have to prove my love of metal to anyone. All I have to do is listen. Other than that people can judge all they want. However, it is funny when I mention specific bands and they stare. There is more to metal than metalcore. There is more to music than emo.

I used to get called poser by my Metal friends cause I listened to Korn and Deftones, not Cannibal Corpse and stuff like that. Can't help what gets me groovin. Unfortunately, I've been called a poser many times. But I don't really give a crap about what people say, anymore. I don't have many band tshirts or any accesories of that kind but that doesn't mean I'm not "metal" enough. I love Slipknot too. But what I hate is when people are not true to themselves and keep denying the fact that they listen to metal because they fear they will be laughed at. I think those kinds of people are a total scum and are not worthy of metal. But that's just my opinion.

My background was not gritty or f-ed up either and to look at me, the way I dress on a regular basis, i look as straight laced as they come. What we are in to is not reflected by how we look or what we wear so ignore the haters cos they do not deserve to be noticed.
