How come?
I argue a lot. I used to argue more, but I still argue too much. Part of this is probably a result of having passionate opinions on many topics. Another part probably stems from an aggressive upbringing. Regardless, I tend to get into debates often.
About a year ago a friend of mine confronted me about this problem. He said I don't listen enough and instead of trying to convince people I am right I should stop and ask them "how come?". How you think that is right or how come you feel this way? By doing this you can eventually figure out why they think the way they do and respect it.
We fight and argue with each other because we feel threatened. The more afraid we are, the louder and ruder we get. It's natural response we have built in us to help us survive. Sure it's about whether dub step is any good, but If you are "wrong" about dub step, you could be wrong about other things too and that would make you unsafe. So your brain fights back, it try's to protect the opinions you have expressed as adimently as if you were mud wrestling a gorilla.
More on this later.

I used to be able to walk away from pointless self-perpetuating conflicts. Good times.

I´m the opposite. I have been afraid of conflicts my whole life.
