Censorship
Yesterday I realized for the first time that when I type “fucking” in the chat, it gets censored. I found this very interesting since I can say “shit”, “fuck” and even “cunt”, and not get censored. This made me think of how stupid most censoring is at all. In some cases, censoring even makes things worse.
Take for example this video. In reality, what he is singing is totally innocent, but the censoring gives the illusion for something much more sinister. MAHAHAHAW!!
The Index Librorum Prohibitorum ("List of Prohibited Books"), was put out by the Catholic church until 1966. The list was of books the church banned. Eventually they got rid of the list. Why? Because any book they put on the list immediately became a best seller.
Some films that would have never been that successful with an R rating, made a huge impact because of the over hyped “X” rating during the 70's and 80's. Some notable films that were originally X rated include:
Midnight Cowboy, 1969 (the only X rated movie to win an oscar for best picture)
A Clockwork Orange, 1969 (now rated R, it is Josie's favorite movie and she even has a Clockwork Orange shirt)
Fritz the Cat, 1972 (The first cartoon to recieve an X rating, mostly for hard drug references)
The Last House on the left, 1972 (Classic Wes Craven, the director of the Scream movies and Nightmare on Elm Street)
The Hills Have Eyes, 1977 (More classic Wes Craven)
Friday the 13th and its sequels, 1980s (all originally X before being cut down)
Robocop, 1987 (also originally X for violence before being cut down)
Censoring also is sometimes a visual illusion. Take for example these pictures. These woman could easily be confused for being naked, because of the censoring dots, but they are not!

In reality, the girls in these pictures look more dressed, even though the bubbles show less skin!

I forgot to mention the irony of censoring anything at all on a Korn website - as if we can say anything more crass than the band already does.
